A fore-edge painting appears on each volume both being sporting scenes. That on Vol. I is a picture of a hunter in the act of firing at a bird flushed by his dogs and the one on Vol. II depicts a fox hunting scene showing mounted hunters and dog on the trail of the quarry. Fore edge Paintings of sporting subjects are quite scarce.
